I recently visited Yoman Brahmans at Moura to see how full brothers Rockley Tyrion (IVF) (P) and Rockley LP Renly (IVF) and their progeny have been performing since they were purchased at the 2016 Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale (RBWS).

It was enormously satisfying to receive positive feedback from Yoman owners Stewart and Stephanie Nobbs and their son Tom. Here’s a summary:

Impressive Performance

Tom talked about how well Tyrion and Renly were performing, making special mention of characteristics that directly reflect Rockley’s Elite Breeding Attributes:

• Tyrion and Renly show excellent signs of libido and achieve high pregnancy rates (#1 Fertility)
• They are well mannered, easy to handle, quiet and can both still be scratched. (#2 Quiet Temperament)
• They hold their condition well with cows. (#4 Do-ability)
• Upon my inspection their progeny appeared to be #5 Structurally Sound, showing ample #6 Length and Width and #7 Clean Underlines.

Tom is “extra pleased” with the calves by Renly, a light pigmented sire that crosses well with Yoman females, a high percentage of which are also light pigmented. Renly has bred progeny consistently like himself, which has provided good value for money for Yoman Brahmans.

“Tyrion is breeding a high percentage of polled/scurred progeny, crossed over both polled and horned females and has bred a couple of standout calves”, said Tom.

The Nobbs family selected Rockley Tyrion (IVF) (P) for $24,000 and Rockley LP Renly (IVF) for $15,000 at RBWS 2016.

Both bulls are by JDH Sir Stratton Manso 823/4 out of Rockley Trinadine (IVF) (P). Paternal brothers include Rockley Premium Platinum (IVF) (PP), who made $35,000 at Big Country 2017 and Rockley Phelps (IVF) (P), who sold for $40,000 at Big Country 2018.
