Investing in Rockley Red Brahman genetics is a sound, smart investment that will permanently advance your profitability and productivity of your herd. Thanks to more than 65 years of successfully breeding elite red brahmans by three generations of stud breeders Rockley Red Brahman genetics have stood the test of time.
Rockley’s clients are both Stud Cattle Breeders and Commercial Beef Cattle Producers seeking to expand their herds with elite Red Brahman bulls and females. For decades Rockley has assessed their cattle against 7 key breeding attributes that describe truly elite cattle.
Rockley Red Brahmans provides a guarantee on all bulls and females sold. Our cattle are bred to excel in harsh Northern Australian conditions, performance tested, easily handled with the production of beef always at the front of mind.
Sire Power – We only invest in the best. Over the last decade Rockley has spent close to half a million dollars on leading red Brahman sires and these can be evidenced by looking at our current battery of leading Red Brahman Sires. Rockley strives for balance of high fertility, strong carcass traits and above average growth- all in a polled package.
Elite Donors – With a quality young female herd at our disposal, we can insist that Rockley donors adhere to our long-term breeding objectives. Our key focus is fertility pressure to help us identify our most productive breeders and to cull non-performers. Our emphasis on 7 elite breeding attributes and a continued attention on improved EBV accuracies and polled genetics remain strong.

15/09/2016. Homozygous Polled (PP)
Naturally mated and IVF sire.
Elmo Picasso was selected at Beef 2018 and purchased privately for $40,000. Our breeding objectives aligned with the breeders of this exciting sire. A homozygous POLLED bull with strong head, clean underline, abundance of length and width and a quiet temperament. His sire has produced very consistent progeny and he was collected at 19 months of age. His dam, Elmo Lady Lucille 855/5 (PP), conceived at 16.5 months and is very sound in the udder. She had two calves in a row with a days-to-calving interval of 358 and was pregnancy tested heavily back in calf.
Picasso had semen collected successfully straight after Beef 2018, a great achievement at only 19 months of age and so soon after a stressful event. For a bull of his age, he has a very evident large scrotal circumference. His grandmother is still producing in the Elmo herd.
His Breedplan figures indicate so far that he is above average in DTC, SS and EMA.

What an exciting prospect! He’s a super soft son of the ‘register of renown’ and household name, Kenrol Mr HJ Ray 0366 (ET) (PS). Blessed with a beautiful temperament and disposition, he is crammed full of global genetics from Australia, the US and Africa. Terrific skin, hindquarter, balance, width, style and underline in a very complete package.
His dam is a powerhouse female. Five sons at Brahman Week averaged $45,900. His first daughter sold at Big Country 2023 for $25,000 and his first sons will be offered at Brahman Week 2023. Unfortunately, we lost Raydar in 2021 but we are fortunate to have his semen at our disposal.

We purchased Muan A Trimble (PP) at the 2020 Big Country Sale for $32,500. He was a clean polled at the sale, but his polled test had not been confirmed. We’ve since learned that he’s homozygous polled (PP).
Trimble is a real meat machine with strong bone. At the time of sale, he was a milk tooth, weighed 880kg and had a scrotal measurement of 40cm. He is a medium framed bull and an obvious good doer with excellent muscle expression, strong carcass qualities and a hindquarter that is big, square and deep.
Trimble will join a small group of heifers in the registered herd early in the mating period, and finish off in a commercial paddock. We will report on the results in due course…

Kent is a cherry red sire, tremendously balanced, all in a homozygous polled package. A bull we will use heavily due to his consistent pedigree, balance of phenotype, genotype and overall structural soundness. His full brother Arkyn (PS) sold to the highly regarded Fairy Springs Stud for $80,000 at Rockhampton Brahman Week, 2023. Dam is a feminine, smooth coated female that has bred every year in between IVF and ET programs, calf at foot in 2023.
A bull with strong carcass traits and a nice combination of muscle and fat cover. A breed average birth weight bull, in the 10% for gestation length, with above average growth, that we believe would make him the ideal to put over heifers. In the top 5% scrotal size, 2 % retail yield and 16% flight time (temperament). Kent is also in the top 10% for the Central Production Index and top 18% for the Live Export Index.

Born in 2016 this beautifully bred female has two natural calves on the ground and another new addition due any day now which is credit to her considering last year’s extreme drought conditions. Datababe has also worked tremendously well in IVF and produced 11 calves in a program last year. We are eagerly awaiting her next batch of IVF babies due in September, sired by Elmo Picasso (PP) and we are sure they will be impressive.
Datababe is a full sister to our light pigmented, retained sire, Rockley LP Etheridge and also Rockley Dempsey 168/17 who sold for $50,000 at the Big Country Sale 2019.
Four of her sons are earmarked for Brahman Week 2021 and Big Country 2022. Of special mention are two light pigmented sons (sired by Palmal Pattenson (PS) along with their full sisters who are all consistent.
Datababe is in the top 20% for growth in 200 and 400 days and top 10% for 600 day weight. Flight time and shear force are in the top 5%.
