First progeny of the $90,000 Brahrock Raydar to be sold. Raydar has bred very true to type, they are all beautiful natured cattle, with a good skin type, natural softness and have plenty of breed character. This heifer was phenotypically the the pick of the 2021- drop heifers. She is a high growth female with loads of breed character, depth and bone. She is extremely quiet and out of our favourite donor cow, who already has 37 calves to her name and is proven performer. Inspection a must, bred in the purple, a donor in the making.

Etheridge is a light pigmented, polled bull that we made the vitality important decision to retain in 2017. A prepotent son of the proven sire Doonside Mr C Eagle out of one of our most popular donors, Rockley Miss Datababe 17/14. A full brother to Etheridge sold at the Big Country Sale this year for $50,000.
BREEDPLAN figures for Etheridge indicate he is a high growth bull , in the top 10% for 200, 400, 600-day growth, mature cow weight, carcase weight and retail beef yield. He’s in the top 20% for the Jap Ox and Live Export Indexes and in the top 30% for Flight Time.
We have confidently utilised Etheridge in our IVF programs and eagerly await the results. He has been entered in the Repronomics program. We look forward to the assessment of his progeny and improved accuracy of his EBV’s.
We have two polled full sisters to Etheridge who are both outstanding, one of which is also light pigmented. Etheridge progeny include one light pigmented (also known as ‘pink nosed’) who is out of a black nosed cow. We are confident Etheridge would breed a light pigmented progeny when crossed with light pigmented females. His progeny to date look impressive and he is breeding true to his type.
We believe an opportunity presents itself for other breeders from Droughtmaster, Santa etc. to capitalise on utilising more Brahman in their herd given the recent dry times.
Etheridge weighed in at 966kg on the 14/05/2019 when this photo was taken, after light grain supplementation.

Elmo Picasso was selected at Beef 2018 and purchased privately for $40,000. Our breeding objectives aligned with the breeders of this exciting sire. A homozygous POLLED bull with strong head, clean underline, abundance of length and width and a quiet temperament. His sire has produced very consistent progeny and he was collected at 19 months of age. His dam, Elmo Lady Lucille 855/5 (PP), conceived at 16.5 months and is very sound in the udder. She had two calves in a row with a days-to-calving interval of 358 and was pregnancy tested heavily back in calf.
Picasso had semen collected successfully straight after Beef 2018, a great achievement at only 19 months of age and so soon after a stressful event. For a bull of his age, he has a very evident large scrotal circumference. His grandmother is still producing in the Elmo herd.
His Breedplan figures indicate so far that he is above average in DTC, SS and EMA.

We purchased Muan A Trimble (PP) at the 2020 Big Country Sale for $32,500. He was a clean polled at the sale, but his polled test had not been confirmed. We’ve since learned that he’s homozygous polled (PP).
Trimble is a real meat machine with strong bone. At the time of sale, he was a milk tooth, weighed 880kg and had a scrotal measurement of 40cm. He is a medium framed bull and an obvious good doer with excellent muscle expression, strong carcass qualities and a hindquarter that is big, square and deep.
Trimble will join a small group of heifers in the registered herd early in the mating period, and finish off in a commercial paddock. We will report on the results in due course…
