He represents one of the first reds by international and US national champion, JDH Mr Elmo Manso. A strong body, a real sire type out of the leading full blood South African donor NCC Dienka 238 (AI)(ET)(H). Dienka has placed a great genetic stamp on the breed with sons in leading herds across Australia.

NOTES: Etheridge is a light pigmented, polled bull that we made the vitality important decision to retain in 2017. A prepotent son of the proven sire Doonside Mr C Eagle out of one of our most popular donors, Rockley Miss Datababe 17/14. A full brother to Etheridge sold at the Big Country Sale this year for $50,000.

BREEDPLAN figures for Etheridge indicate he is a high growth bull , in the top 10% for 200, 400, 600-day growth, mature cow weight, carcase weight and retail beef yield. He’s in the top 20% for the Jap Ox and Live Export Indexes and in the top 30% for Flight Time.

We have confidently utilised Etheridge in our IVF programs and eagerly await the results. He has been entered in the Repronomics program. We look forward to the assessment of his progeny and improved accuracy of his EBV’s.

We have two polled full sisters to Etheridge who are both outstanding, one of which is also light pigmented. Etheridge progeny include one light pigmented (also known as ‘pink nosed’) who is out of a black nosed cow. We are confident Etheridge would breed a light pigmented progeny when crossed with light pigmented females. His progeny to date look impressive and he is breeding true to his type.

We believe an opportunity presents itself for other breeders from Droughtmaster, Santa etc. to capitalise on utilising more Brahman in their herd given the recent dry times.

Etheridge weighed in at 966kg on the 14/05/2019 when this photo was taken, after light grain supplementation.
