I agree with the old saying that behind every good bull there’s a good mother.
Here we feature the dams of our 2017 Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale bulls. The aim of our donor selection is to deliver you predictable genetics from these quality female lines. After more than 60 years of successfully breeding elite Red Brahmans, we have every confidence in the uniform, balanced, visually appealing and consistent line of elite females that are easily identifiable as ‘the Rockley type’. Going forward, fertility pressure will be our number 1 priority as we search for elite females within our herd.
At RBWS 2017, we are extremely excited to be offering the first progeny of two outstanding daughters of NCC Diplomat.
ROCKLEY PAULINE 3033 (AI) (ET) (H)
Dam of Lot 842, Rockley Howden (IVF) (P)
Strong carcass qualities, broad muzzle, easy fleshing, correct and feminine all describe Pauline. She is another highly regarded daughter of Rockley Trinity 2111 (P), whose daughters are connecting well with various bulls.
Pauline was sired by Rockley Adidas 2564 (P) who sold at Brahman Week to Gipsy Plains for $16,000. Adidas was a powerful son of our full South African blood bull, NCC Kwai. Pauline’s first natural son, Rockley Rifleman, was our lead bull at Brahman Week in 2016 who sold for $10,000 to astute judges, Roland and Sally Everingham from Oak Park Station. We have had numerous progeny out of her since then.
Pauline has been sent to the meat works to comply with quarantine obligations.
ROCKLEY MISS DATABABE 17/14 (IVF)
Dam of Lot 843, Rockley Magnussen (IVF) (P)
This female was the stand out phenotypically in her year group, and this was backed up by her high score in our weaner grading system. We couldn’t be happier with her 14 progeny.
A beautifully proportioned cow with a tremendous balance of carcass qualities and femininity, Datababe had terrific conformation, great do-ability and a sound udder, topped off by a beautiful nature. Long and thick and a very well-balanced breeder that we are very proud of.
Unfortunately, this cow is no longer with us so we are thankful we used her heavily in our IVF programs.
ROCKLEY MISS JACINTA (IVF) (D)
Dam of Lot 844, Rockley Albania (IVF) (D)
Jacinta is a very moderate, functional, fertile, feminine female who presents great maternal traits. She is an easy fleshing female who displays both depth and softness. Her pedigree is stacked full of the greats and she phenotypically shows the desirable traits of both her parents. Clean in the underline, smooth, well-balanced and sound in the udder all describe this cow.
Jacinta has clicked very well with both Kenrol Mr HJ Ray 0366 and Doonside Mr C Eagle. With seven calves to her name to date, she also has a promising bull calf on her now by NCC Essex. Jacinta is one of our favourites, so much so that in 2017 we are retaining one of her sons, who is sired by Doonside Mr C Eagle.
ROCKLEY TRINADINE 3139 (IVF) (P)
Dam of Lot 845, Rockley Mr Trinadine (P)
She is stylish, feminine, very quiet and has good do-ability. She is a moderate framed female that has clicked with numerous sires, with a high percentage of her descendants being polled. Both her sire and dam are loaded with class and have a pedigree to match. Trinadine is a donor we hold in high regard who continues to produce sale bulls: three of her sons are destined for Big Country 2018.
Trinadine has been sent to the meat works to comply with quarantine obligations.
