We reached new heights this year by recording the second overall top sale average for our three elite bulls. Our ambition when we returned to the selling ring last year was to be consistently amongst the top 10 averages and it is very rewarding to achieve this milestone in such a short period.
Rockley bulls averaged $21,666, well above the Red Brahmans overall average of $8,435. The Red section topped at $44,000 with a clearance rate of 96 per cent.
We suspected from the interest shown in Premium Platinum that we would start our sale with a bang. He was met with spirited bidding and was knocked down for $35,000, selling to Peter Camm. Thank you to all that took the time to give positive feedback on what a great bull he is. The fact he was tested PP (98%) added to his value, along with his superb temperament, strong bone and softness. His dam Rockley Trinadine deserves recognition too as Premium brings her sale sons’ average up to $22,500.
We are happy our three bulls went to great homes. Buyers and sale prices are on our Sales/Events page.
We thoroughly enjoy travelling to the Big Country Sale to present bulls to our northern clients. The sale atmosphere is very relaxed, with offerings of the highest standard. We look forward to marketing bulls next year at the sale’s 25th anniversary year where our team will feature the first sons of Doonside Mr C Eagle.
Now we’re looking forward to a break in our bull preparation. Our bulls for the 2017 Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale will come in mid-year to start their conditioning and we’re excited that among them will be our first sons of Kenrol Mr HJ Ray 0366.
